Dorothy Tinker may not have been born in Texas, but she has certainly lived here most of her life. As an only child, she grew up telling herself stories of fantastical worlds and creatures, of plots in space, of strange other cultures. At the age of thirteen, writing became her passion as she discovered that the stories in her head could find a home on paper. Unfortunately, like many young writers, Dorothy was warned that writing didn’t pay the bills, so when university came, she studied math and computer science instead of anything literary.

After a few years of trying to find a job to match her degree, Dorothy made the commitment to return to her dream of being a writer. Two years later, she published her first book. Now, as of 2017, she has three books published in her young adult epic high fantasy series: Peace of Evon, Gift of War, and Lost King. She is also published in several anthologies, including Inklings Publishing’s Eclectically Cosmic, HWG Press’s Riding the Waves and Out of Many, One, and Writespace’s In Medias Res.

In 2016, Dorothy also broke into the copyediting world with her editing business, D Tinker Editing, and she has a growing portfolio of works to the company’s name.
